Pulau Mamutik is one of beautiful island in Sabah. It is situated near the coast of downtown Kota Kinabalu. But firstly, you need two minutes from Hyatt Regency Hotel Kota Kinabalu to reach to the jetty of Jesselton point. From here, you need to hire tour boats to reach to Pulau Mamutik.The charge is between RM100 to RM200 per boat including go and back from the island. You can savour the breezy air about half an hour to get there.
Above all the five islands in the gazetted Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park, Pulau Mamutik is the second smallest islandThis island like the former islands was formerly bordered by a live dark coral reef. At high tide there was white sand submerged between the beach & the dark coral reef. At low tide the area of white sand under water decreased & the dark coral reef was very close to the now larger beach area.
